Wes Chapman, Wes formed Chapman Medical Quality (CMQ) to bring data driven quality systems to patient centered care. CMQ focuses on ISO 9001 systems in clinical applications – principally hospitals environments/accreditation and the urgent needs for quality based structural reform in oncology care delivery. Reform in hospital accreditation (see Revolution in Accreditation) has opened a terrific opportunity to simplify and improve data driven hospital quality efforts. Similarly, reform efforts from CMS (see Quality and Payment Reform in Oncology) finally address the  unmet needs of physician groups, payers and hospitals for oncology applications in data controlled quality systems focused on payment reform – particularly bundled payments and oncology ACOs.

Wes was an early pioneer in the integration of ISO and Lean/Six Sigma for clinical practice applications, and has used these techniques to help build and improve clinical operations in a range of providers. Mr. Chapman acts as an Adjunct Professor at the Dartmouth Medical School, specializing in ISO-related medical quality systems. He is a Dartmouth College and Tuck School of Business graduate, and holds a Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt from the Thayer School of Engineering. Additionally he is CQA and CQMOE through ASQ, a CPHIS through HIMSS, a CPHQ through NAHQ and is certified in NIAHO through DNV.

Prior to CMQ, he was Chairman & CEO of M2S, Inc. for 10 years, and was a partner at the investment banking firms of Oppenheimer & Co. and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette prior to that.
